ACES program highlights Alberta Carrier on-road safety performance
Calgary, AB – March 17, 2025 – The Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) is proud to announce a significant development in road safety and operational efficiency for Alberta’s carriers. Following AMTA advocacy and collaboration with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors (TEC), the Alberta Carrier Excellent Safety (ACES) Program will officially launch on April 1, 2025. This new initiative will replace the Partners in Compliance (PIC) program, offering a host of benefits to carriers who exceed minimum safety standards.

The results highlight growing concerns about increased operational costs, declining freight demand, and the long-term viability of cross-border trade.

2023 Professional Truck Driving Championship
The AMTA 2023 Professional Truck Driving Championship took place Saturday, June 10 on the sunny, albeit breezy, training area at the AMTA Edmonton location.

AMTA hosts 28th annual Alberta Inspectors Championship

The 28th annual Alberta Inspectors Championship was held at the Alberta Motor Transport Associations training centre at the Edmonton International Airport on Saturday June 25th. There were five CVSA North American Standard (NAS) inspectors competing for top prize in the competition.
AMTA makes decision to cancel 2022 Professional Truck Driving Championship
AMTA’s Professional Truck-driving Championship (PTDC) is one of our most exciting events, drawing our industry and the community together. However, this year, driver registrations and volunteer numbers are significantly lower than usual and are not sufficient to run the event.

Results: Alberta Inspectors Challenge
The 2021 Alberta Inspectors Challenge has concluded.
This year’s event was held at the Atmore Vehicle Inspection Station. The event usually takes place in conjunction with the AMTA Professional Truck Driving Championship (PTDC), however with restrictions surrounding public gatherings, PTDC 2021 was cancelled and the inspectors event moved to a smaller venue.
