About the AMTA
The AMTA and its members have advanced the commercial transportation industry through safety programs, progressive policy and partnerships. Our influence is evident on every highway—where the work we do, the training and expertise we impart, becomes clear-cut confidence behind the wheel.
As a province-wide, not-for-profit association with offices in Calgary and Edmonton, the AMTA is governed by a Board of Directors, elected annually. Our Board determines the AMTA’s long-term goals, and sets our policies, programs and budgets.

What We Do
Education & Training
AMTA is the leading provider of training and education for the commercial transportation industry. We offer hundreds of courses and resources that will set you up for success.
Certificate of Recognition
Certificate of Recognition (COR) is a voluntary program designed by Government of Alberta’s Partnerships in Injury and Reduction (PIR). By participating in this program you will help your organization; decrease your workers’ time away from work, reduce additional hiring or training cost, and reduce costs associated with claims.
Member Advocacy
AMTA positions are developed in response to the problems, challenges and opportunities that are impacting our members. Policies are developed by our member-led committee comprised of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs (CRA) members in conjunction with AMTA staff. Through participation on committees, responding to members surveys, or just by contacting us, members play a vital role in strengthening AMTA’s voice.
Industry members are the key motivation to AMTA ‘s Industry Advancement team. We desire to accelerate technologies that enhance safety, extend operational efficiencies or support environmental stewardship for the commercial transportation industry.
